Book Release : Davide Ruzzon - Tuning Architecture with Humans

Neuroscience applied to architectural design

As never before, urban settlements are reaching a significant negative potential capable of affecting the mental health of their inhabitants. Meawhile, neuroscience has increased its capacity to support designers and planners. How can we bridge these two trajectories that, for now, are moving along separate lines? Nowadays, technologies and architectures humans developed, along with cultural and social transformations, particularly in the last two centuries, modified cities without sufficient awareness of the fundamental role played by the environment in human evolution. Our urban ambiance, and the environmental crisis, are the result of this forgetting. Now, human sciences can now underpin a new way to conceive human-centered design approach.
