Mission statement

Grounded in architecture’s expertise and informed by the multidisciplinary, empirical investigation into experience, body, and built environment, the ANFA Italy Chapter encourages mutual understanding and knowledge construction among students, scholars, educators, and practitioners. It is a non-profit research, dissemination, and networking project to valorize the Italian scientific community, supported by an international Honorary Committee with experts from architecture, design, philosophy, cognitive science, and economics. Compliant with the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture (ANFA) mission, we focus on translating and applying science-based and evidence-driven principles to the design process at any scale (interior, architecture, urban, and landscape design). Our five inspiring concepts are embodiment, affect, atmosphere, attunement, and memory.
