Reading Group Meeting : ANFA Reading Club

BI-WEEKLY ON Fridays at 10:30AM starting on May 12, 2023
 Fri, May 12, 2023, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM PDT
We are delighted to announce a new ANFA Reading Club, whose goal will be to follow new scientific research relevant to the mission of ANFA and to help participants become more comfortable with evaluating outcomes of scientific studies.

Meetings of the Club will be open to all ANFA members and will take place bi-weekly on Fridays at 10:30 AM US Pacific Time. To facilitate discussion, attendance is limited to the first 50 registrants. We will maintain a waiting list, and will ask early registrants to let us know in advance if their plans have changed and they cannot make the meeting.

Format

In each meeting, a scientist and a designer will make a joint presentation of a paper of their choice, followed by a general discussion. Presentations will be short, using up to ten unique slides. Potential presenters will be asked to either propose a new paper, in advance of their session, or select a paper from a pool curated by the organizers. If you are interested in presenting a paper, or would like to suggest a paper for the future, please contact Tiziana Proietti, [email protected].

Kick-off meeting

The theme of the first meeting is SYMMETRY. The presentation titled “Shape Discrimination and the Judgment of Perfect Symmetry” will be given by Dr. Eduardo Macagno of the University of California San Diego and Dr. Tiziana Proietti of the University of Oklahoma on Friday, May 12, at 10:30 AM Pacific Day Time.
